Kala wine

Background:
The word “Kala” originates from ancient Sanskrit, meaning “art.” It reflects the rich, three-thousand-year history of winemaking and serves as a bridge between heritage and creativity. For this project, I drew inspiration from ancient coins and punchmarks from the Kuninda Kingdom of the central Himalayas, which featured animal and natural motifs. These elements inspired me to incorporate them as a representation of Napa Valley while paying homage to Indian history.

My Role and Contributions:

  • Brand Identity Development:

    • Created a series of bespoke icons and a color palette tailored to illustrate each wine varietal.

    • Developed a cohesive visual narrative that tied together the themes of history, nature, and artistry.

  • Digital Design:

    • Designed a website to showcase the brand and its unique story.

    • Produced social media graphics to engage audiences and reinforce the brand’s visual identity.

  • Product Design & Manufacturing Collaboration:

    • Collaborated with the manufacturer to select bottle styles that aligned with the brand’s aesthetic.

    • Chose label stock and printing techniques that enhanced the tactile and visual experience.

    • Worked on wax pigment selection and cork imprinting to ensure every detail reflected the brand’s premium quality.

Outcome:
The result was a visually stunning and culturally rich brand that seamlessly blended Indian heritage with the iconic Napa Valley wine experience, creating a memorable and meaningful product for wine enthusiasts.
