The Rental Car Rally is pretty hard to decribe, so I’ll just cut n’ paste from the “WTF” section on the website
”In 2007, two oddballs in Brooklyn named Supreme and Pants wanted to go on a road trip. Neither of them had a car. Neither of them had a license. The only logical thing to do was to get other people to drive them, and also get them to pay for it. Rental Car Rally was born. Enlisting the aid of their old friend and drunken wizard named Mustache, they created a rolling carnival of costumed humans who they led on an overnight journey to uniquely odd roadside attractions like a nudist bookstore run by America’s first male exotic dancer, abandoned hotels, amusement parks overgrown with graffiti and weeds, secret desert communities, and deserted military bases lost to time. Things got weird.”
I went on the first reconnaissance mission to Montreal in 2007 and was asked to design a logo for this insane event. I looked at all of the rental car agency logos past and present and stole some ideas, tossed in some flames for good measure and there you go.
Flash forward to 2021 and Supreme got in touch and said that this year things were gonna get even weirder!
Now there’s a wrestling belt that goes to the winning team. And they wanted to do custom egg cartons (egg-throwing is a big part of the competition) So I revisited the original logo and replace the car with a gap-toothed tractor. I also did a shirt design with a bad ass rat-rod tractor being driven by a defiant blonde.
